Dois estilos de ilustração / Two styles of illustration

Depois de um loooongo intervalo, volto hoje com um post para falar de um aspecto da minha produção: a versatilidade de estilo. Nunca me preocupei muito em ter um traço que definisse um estilo, uma assinatura. E isso pode causar calafrios em alguns. Claro, acho muito bacana quando identificamos um ilustrador pelo seu traço, mas isso nunca foi um objetivo pra mim. Na verdade meu objetivo foi sempre ter trabalho. E penso que aumento a chances disso acontecer se tiver mais flexibilidade no que posso oferecer, as vezes para um mesmo cliente. É isso que vou mostrar hoje. São dois estilos de ilustras para livros da Editora Positivo. Na primeira série, fiz tudo vetorizado, com retoques no Photoshop. Veja abaixo:

After a loooong break, I come back today with a post to talk about one aspect of my production: the versatility of style. I never cared much about having a dash to define a style, a signature. And that can cause shivers in some people. Sure, is very nice when we identify an illustrator by his dash, but it was never a goal for me. Actually my goal was always to have work. And I think the chances of this happening increase if I have more flexibility in what I can offer, sometimes for the same client. That is what I will show today. There are two styles of illustrations I made for Positivo Publisher books. In the first series, I did everything vectorized with retouching in Photoshop. See below:

Já neste segundo pacote de trabalhos, optei por fazer o traço a nanquim, colorir no Photoshop, e aplicar algumas texturas. Isso pra dar um ar mais antigo para as ilustras. Esta série foi muito legal fazer pois pude ilustrar textos de Edgar Allan Poe, Luis Fernando Veríssimo e Jô Soares. Confira:

Already this second package of work, I opted to ink the draws, coloring in Photoshop, and apply some textures. To give it a little bit more old mood for the illustrations. This series was really cool to do, because I could illustrate texts of Edgar Allan Poe, Luis Fernando Verissimo and Jô Soares. Check out:
