Olá Olímpicos! Hoje um post sobre uma ilustra feita a convite do colega Márcio Guerra para o seu Estúdio Ornitorrinco. Ele me pediu para fazer uma ilustração com o tema “Mulheres adoram ornitorrinco”. Pensei em fazer algo que representasse como uma mulher poderia AMAR DE VERDADE um ornitorrinco. Me veio a ideia de uma mulher com uma tattoo. Não tenho nenhuma, mas imagino que se uma pessoa vai tatuar algo na sua própria pele, é porque gosta DEMAIS daquilo. Eu só que não queria fazer uma tattoo num estilo qualquer, pois tinha receio de ficar meio tosco, de ficar de mau gosto. Em paralelo a isso, fui saber um pouco mais sobre ornitorrincos. Ai descobri que este animal é típico da Nova Zelândia e da Austrália. Nisso, me lembrei de um exercício que fiz há muuuuuitos anos na Quanta, usando tatuagens Maori como tema. Pra quem não sabe, os Maori são um povo nativo da Nova Zelândia. Bingo! Era só fazer a minha mulher com uma tattoo de um ornitorrinco no estilo Maori!  Abaixo vou mostrar as etapas desta ilustra.

Hello Olympics! Today a post about a illustrates made at the invitation of Mr Márcio Guerra for your Estúdio Ornitorrinco. He asked me to make an illustration with the theme “Women love platypus.” I thought about doing something that represented how a woman could truly love a platypus. I had the idea of​a woman with a tattoo. I have none, but I imagine that if a person will tattoo something in your own skin, is because like that TOO MUCH. I just didn’t to do a tattoo in any style, because was afraid to get a little rough, to be in bad taste. Parallel to this, I know a little more about platypuses. I’l found that this animal is typical from New Zealand and Australia. So, I remembered an exercise I did maaaaaany years ago at Quanta, using the Maori tattoo theme. For those who don’t know, the Maori are a people native to New Zealand. Bingo! It was just doing my woman with a tattoo of a Maori-style platypus! Below I will show the steps on this illustration.

Aqui a ilustra bem mais adiantada, com uma tattoo qualquer da web, só para ver se o caminho estava ok.

Esta é a primeira ‘tattoo’ no estilo Maori. Ao lado, ela já aplicada na ilustra com alguns detalhes refeitos. Não gostei muito do resultado da tattoo, estava muito simples.

This is the first ‘tattoo’ in Maori style. Next, she shows applied in the illustration with some details remade. I didn’t like it very much, was very simple.

Então fiz uma nova tattoo. Depois de pesquisar por mais tempo o estilo Maori, percebi que as tatuagens são mais complexas, com mais detalhes. O que achei legal foi que o ornitorrinco não ficou tão evidente, você leva um tempinho pra vê-lo. Não é sempre que isso acontece, mas acho bacana quando não entrego de bandeja tudo no primeiro olhar.

So did a new tattoo. After researching for more time the Maori style, I realized that tattoos are more complex, with more details. What I liked was that the platypus was not so obvious, you take some time to see it. It’s not often that happens, but is very nice when I don’t give everything at first glance.

E aqui está a ilustra finalizada, já com todos os ajustes prontos. Uma tattoo tão forte acabou criando um contraste bacana com a delicadeza da mocinha, não acha?

And here is the finished illustration, with all the settings ready. A tattoo so strong it created a nice contrast with the delicacy of the girl, don’t you think?

Bom, para finalizar, quem acompanha este blog há algum tempo, percebeu que esta ilustração está um pouco diferente de tudo que tenho feito. Isso porque no 1º semestre deste ano fiz o curso de pintura digital Crayon na Mélies. Eu achava que me faltava aprender esta técnica, e estudando lá tive a oportunidade de conhecer grandes talentos e começar a desenvolver esta lado. Mas sobre isso, vou falar num próximo post. Well, finally, those who follow this blog for some time, realized this illustration is a bit different from anything I’ve done. This is because in the first half of this year I attended a digital painting classes – Crayon – at Méliès. I thought I needed to learn this technique, and studying there I had the opportunity to meet great talents and begin to develop this side. But on this, I will speak in a future post.
